Averyl Dufour. Living Room. October 25th , 2017.
Seating area with oversized patterns. Oversized patterns, as seen on the rug, work well in large open-plan living rooms, and are a great way to add interest to minimal furnishings. A space-age coffee table and contemporary chairs give this modern living room a James Bond vibe. A wall of windows keeps the room feeling light and airy.
Tonal blue and grey living room. Love bare floorboards? Then warm up your space with a huge rug. It will make it feel a lot more snug in winter, plus in an open-plan room, it will section off different areas, such as the living room and dining room.
A coffee table with drawers or a hidden shelf is perfect for keeping remote controls within reach but out of sight. Footstools that open up to reveal a secret storage compartment are another neat tidying trick, especially in small living rooms. Open shelving is great for books and ornaments, but it’s useful to have some kind of drawer or cupboard storage in your living room as well, where you can tuck away things like laptops and other items that you don’t want on display. Remember to leave plenty of room for any furniture with doors or drawers to open properly.
Jungle-themed living room, with luxe textiles, olive tree stumps and lashings of foliage, the living room embodies all things safari. Rather than knock out the dated natural rock fireplace wall, the owner’s have concealed it with a plaster screen, with lights behind to give a soft glow in the evening.
